Since 1971 the UNESC0 has started a
worldwide program named Man and Biosphere whose purpose is reciprocal relations
between Man and his environment with regard to necessities of conservation and
development. The Cévennes national Park created in 1970 makes part of it since 1985.
The sites in the Park are exceptional by their beauty, by their variety, by their
ecological interest... the panoramas are splendid, the natural monuments numerous. All
these very different landscapes, while being of a savage greatness, are marked by
human work and worth to be visited. So valued sites must be protected

griffon vulture and tries the reintroduction of woodgrouse.
Flora: the range of vegetation is a very
large one as it extends from vegetal associations related to evergreen oak to natural beech and fir grove of the
northern siopes of mont Lozère . Some rocky places have endemic species.
Cevennes national Park has 2000 species of plants, a lot protected
