Le mas de la Taillade is an rural equipped holiday cottage at about 350 m height, at the heart of the Cevennes, on 40 ha of land, essentially chestnut wood.

The cottage is situated in nature far away of urban noices in between mountains with mainly forest, it's.
an exceptional environment, with calm and tranquillity promised.

This site has many environmental advantages and proximity, southern Lozère with :
le Parc National des Cévennes
landscapes , recognized by the UNESCO, as cultural agro pastoralism landscapes, and
Natura 2000 (sustainable development sites).

The cottage consits of the highest level of two stocks. Because of the slope, each level is groundfloor at one side.
The cottage entrance and itt's terace are independant of the living below. It's access path of 2 km is unhardened the first 500 meter.

This renovated ancient farmhouse lies at 7 km from the little village Saint Etienne Vallée Française and at 9 km of Saint Jean du Gard; (markets, all trade and services, museums, steamtrain, leisures, docter, drogery, touristoffice. . .

History
The farm which accomodates you is a typical Cevennes farmhouse.

During many generations, the economic activity was the production of fruit and vegetables, manufacturing of pélardons (little goatcheeses) and silkworm-breeding.

Nowadays the farm lives a revival with sheepbreeding, chestnuts and the courage of a young Cevenol, our son, his partner and Julie, living in the farm.

Mas de la Taillade knew to keep its agricultural character with a production satisfying the family needs.

The cottage of 75 m2, is a restored former magnanery, the silkwormpart of a farmhouse, consisting off :
- a living of 45 m2 with closed fireplace, television, (TNT), CD player, 3 armchairs, and open kitchen-corner and a sofa-bed for 2 people.
- two bedrooms, one with a double bed of 160 cm ; the other
with a double bed of 140 cm plus 1 bed of 90 cm
- a bathroom with sink, hairdryer, shower and washing machine
- a WC.

Equipment
The equiped kitchen understands complete kitchen ustensils and crockery, an electric coffeemachine, a hood, a refrigerator, an electric furnace, a micro-wave, a dishwasher, a gaz-cooker and numerous accessories (blender, mixer, pressurecooker)..

Outside
A terrace of 20 m2 is contiguous to the lodging.
The surrounding space makes it possible to benefit from the shade of the chestnut trees. (barbecue, meal in openair, calm) ; parking is easy and safe.

Shops & services
Shops and services all kind ( like bakery, grocery, doctors pharmacists and restaurants) are available in St Etienne Vallée Française and in St Jean du Gard.

Leisure :
Hiking, (mountain-)biking, cocooning or bathing are possible pleasures at this unspoilt calm natural site.
The two villages in the vicinity, St Etienne Vallée Française and St Jean du Gard, offer various other activities ( tennis, petanque, riding, swimming-
pool, museums, markets, fairs, steamtrain, etc... )

The gardon
Situated at 2 kilomètres, the Gardon river is an appreciable attraction for swimming and fishing.
The mountains, the seaside
Of Mas de la Taillade it takes two hours by car to visit the Mont Lozère and the Mont Aigoual and 1 and a half hour to dip in the Mediterranean.
The region offers numerous curiosities ( various caves, Le Pont du Gard, the Gallo-Romans vestiges of Nîmes, etc..)
