Small active short-billed insectivorous bird.Often flocking together. Sexes alike; summer and winter plumage alike.
The only tit, indeed the only small bird of the region, appearing mainly blue and yellow; bright blue on head especially distinctive. Juvenile has white cheek and nape patches tinged yellow.
Most typical of many calls is a rather scolding 'tsee-tsee-tsee-tsit'; cheerful song can be rendered 'tsee-tseee-tsu-tsuhuhuhu'.
